Located in the heart of Taipei, BOOTH reimagines the gastro-pub as a cultural incubator where dining, music, and creativity intertwine. Conceived by musician-proprietors from the entertainment industry, the venue merges refined gastronomy with a professional recording studio, offering a rare hybrid space that can shift seamlessly between intimate dinners, lively social gatherings, DJ sets, and even small concerts.
The entrance sets a theatrical tone: a recessed doorway frames the signage like a stage curtain, while a foyer with high-standing tables creates a moment of pause and connection before guests enter the main hall. Circulation unfolds in a looping configuration, guiding movement naturally and ensuring that every experience, from casual drinks to celebratory banquets, feels effortless. Adaptability defines the project鈥檚 identity, enhanced by movable furniture and a lighting system that transitions from warm dining ambience to vibrant full-spectrum neon.
At its core, BOOTH is shaped by sound. Two vintage JBL 4350 loudspeakers from the 1970s, each weighing over 100 kilograms, anchor the bar within reinforced cabinetry. Paired with vinyl turntables and a professional DJ console, they infuse the atmosphere with high-fidelity nostalgia. A professional-grade recording studio, discreetly embedded in the plan, achieves exceptional acoustic isolation, offering artists a sanctuary for spontaneous creation, even as the outer space resonates with energy.
Materials further enrich the narrative. Green glazed bricks recall railway tiles, marble tabletops edged in wood celebrate craftsmanship, and Italian decorative plaster lends painterly depth. The nearly 3.7-meter ceiling amplifies openness, while angled windows balance transparency and privacy. A glass-enclosed salon and semi-circular banquettes introduce layers of intimacy, supporting both collective vitality and private dialogue.
More than a restaurant, BOOTH is a living tableau of Taipei鈥檚 urban culture鈥攁 contemporary salon where gastronomy and artistry meet, proving that social life and creativity can thrive in perfect harmony.
