Situated within the Grade-A office tower of CENTER CROSSING Hangzhou,?Run Dong Hui?is an exclusive club for the city’s business elite, offering a serene retreat for quiet leisure, discreet meetings, and refined hospitality. Inspired by Hangzhou’s waterways and poetic charm, the design contrasts the surrounding glass-and-steel skyline with a hidden garden of Eastern contemplation. Its layout mirrors the rhythm of classical Chinese gardens, emphasizing natural textures and warmth. Subtle lighting and a muted palette create an atmosphere of quiet elegance and cultural depth. The design reimagines the essence of traditional Jiangnan gardens through a contemporary architectural lens, in which concise and neat volumes penetrate to create a relaxing spatial experience.
Instead of relying on symbolic motifs like whitewashed walls or lattice windows, the space is composed of interlocking light-toned geometric volumes that shift in scale and orientation. These forms overlap, penetrate, and float, creating a dynamic spatial rhythm that evokes the winding paths and layered views of classical gardens within the club. A narrow gap between two masses captures a fragment of distant greenery, turning it into a living scroll. A cantilevered golf lounge hovers above a winding ribbon of water, enhancing the tranquil experience.
The architecture guides visitors' sightlines, unveiling new perspectives at every turn, transforming a limited space into an endless exploration. Light and shadows, filtered through strategic openings, animate minimalist surfaces with shifting patterns reminiscent of ink paintings. The result is a serene, immersive environment that invites exploration, reflection, and connection.?This is not just a place to meet, it’s a place to pause, wander, and experience; and it’s a modern sanctuary infused with Eastern philosophy, crafted for elevated corporate hospitality.
