This project focuses on the design of a private residence, where the designer embarked on a journey to truly understand the homeowner鈥檚 rich tapestry of travel experiences, lifestyle preferences, and aspirations for interior decoration. Drawing inspiration from these insights, the concept of a 鈥淎n Art Exhibition of Us鈥 was established at the heart of the design, merging modern minimalist aesthetics with highly personalized elements that reflect the homeowner's narrative.
A key feature of this design is the thoughtful removal of partition walls between rooms, resulting in a spacious and airy gallery-like corridor that seamlessly connects the public and private areas of the home. This innovative layout allows natural light to flood the interior, while also framing breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. As sunlight streams through the expansive windows, it cultivates a sense of serenity and invites the lush outdoors into the living space.
By harmonizing artistic beauty with functionality, this design not only elevates the aesthetic appeal of the home but also creates an emotionally resonant sanctuary where the homeowner's cherished memories and stories are beautifully interwoven into the fabric of everyday life. The result is a joyful and welcoming residence that celebrates life鈥檚 experiences in a setting of comfort and tranquility.
Recognizing that this is a retirement home, the design places a strong emphasis on barrier-free living. The layout is open and inviting, creating a sense of spaciousness that enhances circulation and offers unobstructed sightlines throughout the entire living area. Careful attention has been paid to ensure that the home is level throughout, effectively eliminating any height differences that could pose a tripping hazard and potentially lead to injuries. Moreover, the selection of materials has been deliberately made to prioritize cleanliness and convenience. These easy-to-maintain surfaces allow homeowners to effortlessly keep their living spaces tidy, contributing to a serene and comfortable environment that is well-suited for retirement living.
