Since the 1990s, Taiwan has focused on conserving endangered

plants and established the Taiwan Native Plant Conservation

Center in 2019 to restore native species. However, habitat

destruction, deforestation, and climate change threaten many

plants. To preserve biodiversity and ecological balance,

researching endangered plants is crucial. A dedicated research

center can study native species and use seed banks to safe

guard genetic resources for future restoration.

Aligned with SDG 15: Life on Land, protecting forests and

ecosystems is vital for global food security. Climate change has

severely impacted food supply and storage. Establishing seed

preservation mechanisms not only protects Taiwan鈥檚 native

plants but also ensures sustainable crop development to meet

future challenges
